Designer
Before concentrating on his design practice, Donald Campbell worked in the visual arts field for a number of years. Based in Sydney, he has projects around Australia, in both city and rural locations, as well as internationally. He travels overseas twice a year on buying trips for current and future jobs, sourcing furniture, fabric, homewares and objects from design stores, regular suppliers and artisans, and also flea markets and street fairs.
Many of Donald Campbell’s projects come through word of mouth and personal recommendation; he often works with clients over a number of years, developing long term relationships with them and adapting their spaces to meet changing needs.
Collaboration is an important part of his practice, and he works closely with a number of award-winning and highly regarded architects, landscape designers and builders.
